Customer Public Hearing Scheduled in Sumter for 3.18.26

The Public Service Commission of South Carolina has scheduled a customer public hearing for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026, to be held at Patriot Hall in Sumter (135 Haynsworth Street, Sumter, SC 29150). This customer public hearing pertains to Docket No. 2025-253-E, involving TOCE SC Solar 1, LLC (“the Company”)’s application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Convenience and Necessity for the construction and operation of a 170-MW solar facility in Sumter County, South Carolina.  

In their application, TOCE SC Solar 1, LLC is seeking to construct and operate the White Palmetto Project Solar Photovoltaic Generating Facility (“White Palmetto Project”) and projects the project to occupy approximately 1,700 acres of land 12 miles northwest of the City of Sumter near Borden Road and Black River Road. The Company projects that substantial completion of the construction and power delivery for the White Palmetto Project will be achieved in the first quarter of 2028.
