Dominion Ratepayers Invited to Speak During PSC Virtual Night Hearings

On November 9th, 10th, and 12th at 6 p.m., the Public Service Commission of South Carolina is planning a series of virtual public night hearings to gather consumer feedback related to Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc.’s request for rate adjustments (Docket No. 2020-125-E). Dominion Energy customers are encouraged to register their thoughts on the company’s proposed rate increase—this proposed increase will go before the Commission this winter and will go into effect, if approved by the PSC, in March of 2021.

If you’re interested in testifying, you can do so in two ways—either by calling in on your phone (audio only) or via webconferencing (audio and video). Let’s say you’re interested in testifying via audio. To do so, call 803-896-5133 and preregister by leaving your name, physical address, telephone (preferably cell) number, and which date you wish to testify. That line will be open from October 5th through 3:00 p.m. on November 9th.

If you’d like to testify with audio and video, you’ll follow basically the same procedure—that is, calling in to 803.896.5133 between October 5th and November 9th and leaving your name, email address, physical address, telephone (preferably cell) number, and the date on which you plan to testify. The PSC will then follow up with you via email with details on how to testify, so be certain to leave an up-to-date email.

The Commission wants everyone interested in testifying to note that you must preregister in order to testify and that you can only testify at one public night hearing in this docket.

On November 9th, 10th, or 12th—depending on which date you chose when you called in to preregister—you’ll be able to call into the conference line at 877.236.8674 before 6 p.m. You’ll then be marked present and invited to speak when the Commissioners call your name. Please note that all comments are limited to three minutes and are officially admitted into the record for Docket No. 2020-125-E.

If you’re just interested in listening in without testifying, you can call in to 800.786.6104 at 6 p.m. on November 9th, 10th, and 12th to hear the proceedings without having to speak. You can also watch the livestream at this SCETV link.
