The Public Service Commission will be holding customer public hearings in September and October to hear from Duke Energy Progress customers who wish to share their opinion on Docket No. 2025-154-E with the Commission. Duke Energy Progress’s application includes a request for an increase in residential rates. Dates and times for the public hearing are:
- September 25th at 6 p.m.—An in-person public hearing at Florence County Council Chambers (180 North Irby Street, Room 803, Florence, SC 29501)
- September 29th at 6:00 p.m.—An in-person public hearing at Sumter High School Auditorium (2580 McCray’s Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29154)
- October 2nd at 6:00 p.m.—An in-person public hearing at Lee County Courthouse (123 South Main Street, Bishopville, SC 29010)
- October 27th at 10 a.m.—An in-person OR virtual public hearing at the Public Service Commission Hearing Room (101 Executive Center Drive, Columbia, SC 29210)
- October 27th at 4 p.m.— An in-person OR virtual public hearing at the Public Service Commission Hearing Room (101 Executive Center Drive, Columbia, SC 29210)
Registration is now open, but the Commission asks that any Duke Energy Progress customers interested in testifying at the September 25th or September 29th hearing sign up to register no later than 9.18.25 or 9.22.25, respectively.
If you’ve never testified at a customer public hearing, please note that you can only testify at one of the sessions. Please do not attempt to sign up for multiple dates. Each witness’ testimony is limited to three minutes to ensure that everyone can be heard. All testimony will be given under oath and becomes part of the case/official record. If you would like to speak at one of these public hearings, please register in one of these three ways:

Please note that the Commission will call the names of those persons who pre-register to testify first and will then call the names of the other persons who did not pre-register to testify.
